who can nominate a student for joe berg?
Only First Coast Area teachers and school counselors may nominate a sophomore student to take our Entrance Exam. Each school may only submit 25 nominees during the nomination period from October 1st - 31st. Nominations will not be accepted outside of that time frame.
when can a nominated student register to take the entrance exam?
The exam registration form will only be available from November 1st - 10th. Students must register for the exam prior to 12:01 a.m. on November 11th. 
When will students be notified of their test results?
Students will not be notified of their test results, but in January, students will receive their acceptance packets via email and schools will be notified with a list of accepted students. Those students will also receive an official acceptance letter via USPS, with additional instructions. Students who are not selected to participate will receive notification via email.
what happens if I am accepted, but choose not to participate?
Selected students will receive a packet with instructions for accepting or declining their invitation to participate.
Can a student who wasn't nominated by a teacher or counselor take the entrance exam?
No, only students nominated by a registered teacher or school counselor may register to take the exam. If you are a parent or student, we suggest you speak with your school counselor and advise them of your interest in our program.
Can a student who was not selected re-take the entrance exam?
Unfortunately, we do not offer re-takes. Our Entrance Exam is only offered for one weekend in November. Please remember that each school is only allowed to nominate 25 students, so those nominees have been identified by their teachers as the best all around students in their class. It is truly an honor to be chosen to represent your school and we hope that your intellectual curiosity and eagerness to learn continues to blossom in all of your future endeavors.
My friend/classmate was accepted, but chose to decline their invitation to participate, can i take their place?
Unfortunately, that is not how it works. invitations to Participate in our Seminar Series are non-transferable.
Is joe berg open to all jACKSONVILLE AREA high school students?
Students who wish to participate in our Seminar Series must be nominated by a teacher or school counselor in October of their Sophomore year. Those nominated students then register for and take our Sophomore Entrance Exam when it is offered in November. In January, the top students scorers for the Science and separate Humanities Exams will be invited to participate in our Spring Seminar Series, with membership in the program extending to the Fall of their senior year.
